Christmas Tradition

Good morning, I thought I would share a new tradition I want to start this year.. As a child we always got to open one Christmas present on Christmas Eve, they were always pjs to sleep in.  Well I want to incorporate that into our Christmas traditions but instead I made a gift box that included pjs, slippers, a movie, popcorn, and some hot chocolate..

I seen this idea floating around Facebook a while back and I knew I wanted to do this for my kiddos.

Another tradition we have done for several years is going to my parents on Christmas Eve and watching Christmas Vacation.  My mom loves that movie.

Do you have any family Christmas traditions?

Late Night Crafting

So it’s 9 pm and kids are asleep so I thought I would get my craft on!  I wasn’t sure what to make but I knew I wanted to use my Cricut. I looked on Pinterest and 1st image shown above with the yellow frame from Love & Renovations inspired me! I knew I didn’t have a frame I could use at this time so I went with a regular canvas covered it with some fabric I had from Walmart.  Next I cut out the words with my cricut and tada heres what I come up with.  Of course I love the inspirational piece better but not bad for something created in a few minutes.

I have been really bad about hoarding craft supplies and thinking one day I will need it or use it.  I need to stop buying stuff unless I use what I have haha.

On a different note it’s been a while since I blogged. I wanted to catch up and say HI and hope you are having a great weekend.

Eurika Springs | 7 Year Anniversary

Hello everyone I am writing this blog post in the most comfortable bed from the beautiful cabin we rented for two days.  Today is Sunday meaning the day we go home. I am going to miss this cabin, I want to build a house based off of the features of this place..

Anyhoo we did a lot of exploring the downtown of Eurika Springs yesterday morning/afternoon. It was great, stopped in at Nibbles Eatery for cinimon roll and a SunnyDay smoothie and then after a morning scroll of checking out all the shops we went to the Christ of the Ozarks.

By then we were getting hungry so we stopped at The Filling Station. It’s was yummy Justin got the catfish platter and I got the crispy chicken club sandwhich. Both were great, we walked over to the ice cream shop and I tried the pistachio almond ice cream and fell in love with it.

Then after we went back to the cabin to relax for a bit we decided to go to Lake Leatherwood and we went kayaking for the first time, it was so much fun..

What fun things did you do this weekend?

My Life | Hearing Aids

DSC_0022

I have had hearing aids since I was two years old.  So therefore I don’t remember life without them.  It is a pain in the butt sometimes, but I know God wanted me this way and I am thankful that I can still hear with my hearing aids.

Some of the daily struggles I have are having to taking them out for bed and putting them back in when I wake up before any one tries to talk to me.  Also I can not wear them in the shower, or when swimming and I have to be careful when it rains.  Talking on the phone can be rough I perfer texing, and I use closed captions so I can understand what people are staying on the TV.  As for the radio and music I love the sound of songs, and music especially country but I honeslty dont like the songs because of words, cause I have no idea what the singers are saying.

Hearing aids are so expensive, and they are labled as cosmetic which I think is stupid.  Most insurances do not cover hearing aids at least none of the ones I have had do.  I have to have my hearing aids to work I would not able to function properly at work without them.  As for other cost the batteries seem to constantly go dead, which sucks.  I have had my Oticon hearing aids for 7 years, but they have about come to an end.  I am trying a trial now with a  new doctor and I have my first pair now.  which are the Moxi Fit by Unitron.  I may do a blog post for each type to I can document my experience.

Well I guess I have rambled enough about my hearing aid experience if you have any questions comment below 🙂

Good Morning | Rambling

Hello as I am getting ready for work I think of all the things I would love to do today, but instead I have to go to work. Does anybody else make big todo list while at work of things they would like to accomplish when they get home.  I know I do all the time, and I am so motivated when I am at work but as soon as I get home I am so tired and unmotivated to do anything.  Anyone else have this problem or am I the only one?

Carson’s birthday is Thursday I can’t my hadsome boy is turning 5.  Where has time gone!  Saturday is his party, he is so excited.   My parents and grandpa went in and bought him a wooden swingset, he is going to be so excited.  He loves the outdoors..  I think I am going to do one of those questioneers for him, so that I can keep a memorie book maybe put it in his baby book or something for when he is grown.  Does anybody else do a quetioneer for the children each year?

Well everybody better finish getting ready for work and have some coffee.
